## How to convert from KILOTONNES to TONNES

Since 1 kilotonne is equal to 1000 tonnes, we could say that n kilotonnes are equal to 1000 times n tonnes. In other words, we could use the following formula:

tonnes = kilotonnes x 1000

For example, let's say that we want to convert 2.0 kilotonnes to tonnes. Then, we just replace kilotonnes in the abovementioned formula with 2.0:

tonnes = 2.0 x 1000

That is, 2.0 kilotonnes are equal to 2000.0 tonnes.
