# Kilotonnes to Megatonnes Conversion Table

 kt  =  0.001 Mt

# How to convert from Kilotonnes to Megatonnes

Since 1 kilotonne is equal to 0.001 megatonnes, we could say that n kilotonnes are equal to 0.001 times n megatonnes. In other words, we could use the following formula:

megatonnes = kilotonnes x 0.001

For example, let's say that we want to convert 2.0 kilotonnes to megatonnes. Then, we just replace kilotonnes in the abovementioned formula with 2.0:

megatonnes = 2.0 x 0.001

That is, 2.0 kilotonnes are equal to 0.002 megatonnes.
