# Kilograms to Tonnes Conversion Table

 kg  =  0.001 t

# How to convert from Kilograms to Tonnes

Since 1 kilogram is equal to 0.001 tonnes, we could say that n kilograms are equal to 0.001 times n tonnes. In other words, we could use the following formula:

tonnes = kilograms x 0.001

For example, let's say that we want to convert 2.0 kilograms to tonnes. Then, we just replace kilograms in the abovementioned formula with 2.0:

tonnes = 2.0 x 0.001

That is, 2.0 kilograms are equal to 0.002 tonnes.
